  1. How do I collect the winning dividend?

    Cash Betting:

    • For winning dividend of $1 million or less, you can collect in cash or cheque at any racecourse or Off-Course Betting Branch.
    • For winning dividend per ticket over $1 million but less than $5 million, you can collect in cheque at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Headquarters.
    • For the dividend exceeded $5 million per $10 unit bet, please call the 1817 hotline within the time specified to register. Dividend collection will be arranged upon registration.

    Account Betting:

    • For dividend less than $5 million for a $10 unit bet, dividend will be credited to your account. If the dividend exceeds $5 million per $10 unit bet and your bet is placed by telephone betting service (including ESC card or 1886 Telebet Automated Services, etc.), you are required to register by dialing the 1817 hotline within the time specified. Dividend will be credited to your account after registration.
    • If the winning bet is purchased through Interactive Services and the dividend exceeds $5 million per $10 unit bet, you are not required to register. Dividend will be credited to your account after the registration period expired.
  2. When should I collect the winning dividend?

    Valid betting tickets must be presented for payment within 60 days of the date after the relevant race meeting (Example: Winning tickets for races held on 1 March can be presented for payment on any day from 1 March to 30 April).

  3. Can the dividend payout that I receive for a winning bet combination be less than my initial bet amount?

    HKJC offers a minimum dividend guarantee. For Place bets, no dividend less than the unit bet plus 10 cents will be paid. For Win, Quinella, Quinella Place and Double bets, no dividend less than the unit bet plus 50 cents will be paid. All other bets have a minimum dividend guarantee equal to the unit bet plus $1.

  4. How can I cancel a bet that has already been placed?

    Bets cannot be cancelled once they have been processed.

  5. Can I place bets by credit card payment?

    No. Bets can only be accepted by cash or via a betting account with sufficient funds in the account.

  6. What happens if my selected horse is withdrawn?

    • Single-race bet types: The affected bet combination will be refunded
    • Multi-race bet types: Substitution of the withdrawn horse will be made.
    • All Up bets: The affected single-race bet combination bets will be refunded, whereas multi-leg bets will be carried forward to the next leg.

  7. What happens when there is a dead-heat?

    Generally speaking, the net pools for the affected single-race or multi-race bet types will be subdivided into as many parts as there are winning bet combinations.
